Vacation Bible School

This was the first year Max was old enough to attend VBS and he loved every second of it. I decided to volunteer so Kendall could spend some time away from me around other kids. It took her a couple days to get used to the idea. She went from burying her face and closing her eyes to walking in and playing with toys, so I would call it a success. It was a fun-filled week of crafts, games, songs, and food. Max can't wait until next year!

Sleepy Dragon

First Softball Game ... In Action

Adrienne was finally released to play in her first softball game. She played outfield and backed up her teammates like nobody's business. On offense, the nerves got the best of her in her first at bat, but she was able to get them under control and walked her second time at the plate. Unfortunately, she ran into the ground ball hit to third and was tagged out. It's okay though, she was ecstatic to be on the field with her teammates and we're looking forward to the rest of the season!

Little Friends

Now that the nice weather is here, these girls have been seeing a lot of each other. They play hard and share EVERYTHING with each other. Big kids better watch out, they're about to give them a run for their money.

Kaiser Girls In Da House

Ma and Pa Kaiser took a trip to Chicago and we had the longest, best sleepover ever!

We went to the pool and had some fun in the water outside...
...the big girls designed, drew, and painted a canvas with their name on it for their room.
They worked very hard for many hours and it paid off, they turned out awesome!...
...Kev needed this pile of very LARGE limbs moved, so we cracked the whip and put the brood to work. There was no resistance and no complaining, just heavy lifting and teamwork.
Thanks for visiting and for being so good while you were here.
We loved having you and hope that we get to do it again someday!

Woody

Max has recently been introduced (thanks Nana!) to the wonderful world of Disney Pixar's Toy Story. In two short weeks, we're talkin' 2 movies, 2 cars, a puzzle, a Tag book, a Buzz Lightyear, and 3 Woody's. That's right, I said 3 Woody's!

Ever since Max decided that Woody was his favorite character, it's been non-stop inappropriate comment after inappropriate comment. What were they thinking naming a kids toy Woody?!

Although this is not the family-friendly blog post you are used to, there have been way too many memorable comments that must not go undocumented. Here goes!

Preface 1: These are all genuine, original comments.
Preface 2: No children were coerced or bribed prior to verbalization.
Preface 3: The verdict is still out on whether or not children were harmed during this process, we may not know the emotional toll for several more years.

Warning: STOP READING NOW IF you are easily offended. This post is not for those lacking a sense of humor, nor for those too naive to get a dirty joke.

1) Rachel: (Max has just opened his second Woody toy for his birthday) "Max! You got another Woody!"

2) Kevin: "Every time he opens a present he gets a Woody."

3) Max: (after visiting Toys R'Us on his birthday) "I played with a Woody in a box."

4) Max: (when asked what kind of toy he wants by the Toys R'Us employee) "I want a big, soft Woody!"

Preface 4: Kevin is not a pedophile.
5) Max: "Mom, Daddy and I are playing hide-n-seek with our Woody's!"

6) Max: "Mom, can my Woody and I go to my room?"

7) Max: "Whoa! That's a big Woody."

So Long Tots

Max has graduated from Tiny Tots Gymnastics and can move on up to Preschool I!

Look at him, all confident, holding that certificate high and proud.

On the last day, Mom and Kendall were invited into the gym to play with Max. I think someone is ready to start her own gym class.

Birthday Boy

For his first day as a 4-year-old, Max was livin' large.

French toast for breakfast, lovingly decorated by Mom
A trip to Toys R'Us where Max got a hat, a balloon, and a special toy named Woody (pictured)
Finally, he was serenaded by Mom and Kendall, then blew out a candle in some apple sauce

I think it was a great start to being 4!

Zonkers Visit

To celebrate the eve of Max's birthday and Nana's last day here, we headed to everyone's favorite family fun center...

ZONKERS!
(and the pizza doesn't suck either)

Great American BBQ

At last, re-reunited with my work husband... we tore that BBQ up, volunteer style! We mastered the fine art of meat inspection. That's right, two full days of asking "Can we inspect your meat?" Two glorious days of cruisin', boozin', and BBQ... good times!
