Our new friend, Tera, likes to take pictures as a hobby and agreed to snap a few shots of Max and Kendall at Loose Park and Shawnee Mission Park. She did an awesome job, they turned out great!

Rah Rah Girl

Adrienne cheered at her first football game this weekend. The boys got slaughtered, but it wasn't due to lack of spirit on the sideline!

Max's First Day of Preschool

Max woke up ready for the much-anticipated first day of preschool. He was dressed, fed, and ready to leave at 8:00 AM for a 9:00 AM start time. When we got to school, he took off up the sidewalk by himself. He was very anxious to get into his room and did not appreciate having to spend ten minutes in the hallway. He was first in line to get his name tag when the classroom door opened. I had to say goodbye to him, he was all business and saying bye to me was not a priority. I'm happy to say that he made it through the day with no incidents or accidents. He came home, talked about his morning, ate some lunch, then took a good, long nap. I think Mom's gonna like preschool too.

The Turtle Races

While in Odin for Owen's birthday, we ventured over to the "city" of Hoisington for some down-home turtle racin'. Bill supplied all of the kids with some well-trained, fine-tuned racing machines. With 70+ turtle entries (no freakin' joke), our racing machines had their work cut out for them. Adrienne's turtle failed to advance past the first round as did Kyla and Ryann's turtles. Max's turtle won his first-round heat and advanced to the semi-finals where he/she(?) made friends with the starting line and didn't want to part. Reese (Kyla, Ryann, and Alden's cousin) advanced past the first round and semi-finals into the finals where her turtle also became friends with the starting line earning her 6th place overall.

First Homework Assignment

Mom went to preschool parent orientation and returned with Max's first homework assignment. He had to decorate a fish and bring it to student orientation so it could be hung on the bulletin board in the hallway on the first day of school. Here he is with the finished assignment and on his way to meet his teacher, Mrs. Furman, for the first time.
