Cowboy Day at School

I know this is a lot of pictures, but these made me laugh.

I told Max to "look like a cowboy", and this is what he did.

First Cross Country Meet

she rocked it with a
Personal Best Mile of
7:34!

New Boots

Please don't ask me what he's doing... if I knew, I would tell you. I just wanted to take pictures of him in his boots.

KSU at Arrowhead

Kevin and Rachel had a day out without the kiddies. What better way to spend a sunny September day than watching the Cats from the front row at Arrowhead Stadium! We got intimate with Willie, saw what happens on the sidelines, had a great view of the game, took a tour of the brand new press box, and...

saw a little TV time!

(This is a student of the girl on the right. She brought this picture to school for her teacher... this is one of the many reasons I'm not a teacher.)

Five...

...years ago today, we were here.
A lot has changed in five years...

This little girl...
... isn't so little anymore.

Our sweet baby boy...
... is still sweet, but not a baby anymore.

This little peanut, who arrived in a tiny, fragile package...
... is a far cry from tiny and fragile.

Even (what used to be) our little puppy...
... has accumulated enough doggie years to be older than we are!

Our little family has grown and changed. It seems like all these changes should take way longer than five years, it's going way too fast...

... but we're going to enjoy it while we can.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, KEV!

DEEP THOUGHTS by Max

(Parenting 101 - I think maybe my kids watch a little more TV than I would like them to, but they wouldn't say things like this without it.)

Rachel: "Good job! You kept trying and you got it."

Max: "I know, for a second I was frustrated, but I got it."

Working Hard

Notice the glasses on the head. I missed the shot of her wearing them on her face.
It's so fun pretending to be Daddy, he's the coolest!

The Circus

clowns
tigers
horses
cotton candy
dogs
high wire act
zebras
cool clown hat souvenir
elephants
crazy metal wheel guys
people flying from cannons

priceless???

nope! ...... $11
(cotton candy and clown hat excluded, those were $83.50 each)

O-Man Turns 3

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OWEN!

We celebrated Owen's 3rd birthday in Odin. Everyone blew out a candle, some more than others. The anticipation was too much for Kendall, who blew hers out 10 or 15 times before it was time. Owen received tons of great presents and he was finally able to indulge in a yummy chocolate cupcake that his mom made specially for him. His strict diet doesn't allow for sweets, so it was a treat, even though it took a little getting used to :) He partied so hard, he completely wiped himself out.

While we were there, we hit the Hoisington Labor Day parade where the kids cleaned house on sweet candy treats.

(from the most notorious backwasher that ever lived)

"Hey, there's a party in my drink. Everybody's swimming around."

DEEP THOUGHTS by Max

Those are some neat glasses, I sure like those. Where did you get those glasses?

Max: "I got them from Jesus."

Skills

Here by popular demand, a video of Kendall in action.
She can bear crawl with the best of them, she just needs to remember to stay focused and fight the urge to chit chat when she should be crawling under the rope.

First Homework Assignment

Max wrote these answers all by himself!
He looks proud of himself, doesn't he?

Two-A-Days

Summer is officially over.
Max had preschool orientation at 9, then we jetted over the Kendall's gym class at 10.

Boogie Emergency

Apparently this one couldn't wait until he woke up...

(I hope she got it because she used half a box of kleenex, all of which she threw into the toilet that Kev had to plunge later that night because it was plugged up.)

Midwest Kids Fest

Donuts with Scooby (Kendall loved that!)
Huge jump houses
and a pony ride
